"Digital natives are no longer satisfied with the old corporate model of recruiting, training, supervising and retaining. Companies should adopt a new model in retaining them that is, initiate, engage, collaborate and evolve."
The net generation approaches work wanting immediate feedback, stronger work relationships, better challenges and opportunities, and more of a work-life balance. This means companies should alter their management styles.
The net generation has a lot to offer. Companies that change their management styles to adapt to this are the ones that will come out on top. How should companies accomplish this? Companies should allow the net generation to utilize wikis, blogs, facebook and youtube to harness their creativity and innovation. Companies should allow employees to work part time from home, and to encourage teleconfrencing and collaboration.
What other ways can companies embrace the net generation?

I also think that this generation values their time out of work as much as if not more than they value their work. The older generations took pride in their job and their work. They identified themselves by their jobs. They came in, put in a good, hard solid day's work of which they could be proud. They felt loyalty to their employer, and felt that since the employer took good care of them then they put much pride in their work.
Today's generation enjoy's time outside of work with family and friends. Most of the guys who work for me seem to work just enough to get through until they can be off and hang with their friends. They work well, but don't seem to take the pride in their work that the previous generation did. It's much tougher now to set standards and know they will be upheld because the employee wants to do the right thing. How do you motivate this generation to take pride in their work and take responsibility? If they are doing jobs that allow them to work from home, how do you have any accountability?
In my view, I don't think the net generation is the smartest generation, just the internet make us smarter.
Older generation mostly get information from limited sauces, like paper,TV or textbook. Internet is the greatest information grasper, so net generation can know everything they want more easier than other generations.
But, as a coin has two sides, too much information also means a damage to the net generation, sometimes we can not focus on the important things, and waste too much time is leisure, we must to learn how to filter the useful information for us.
